Breathing Skyscrapers

Hong Kong experiences high temperatures during the summer season. To combat this heat, students are exploring innovative ways to design green buildings. Taking inspiration from self-cooling computer radiators, students have proposed a tall building design in the form of a round tube. This unique design incorporates several features to enhance cooling and energy efficiency:

1. Courtyards are integrated into the building to allow more light and air, making the interior cooler.

2. A circulating water cooling system, similar to how sweat cools our bodies, is implemented.

3. A round building promotes better airflow within and around the building.

4. Skyrise greening, such as roof greening, vertical greening, and platform planting, is implemented to further reduce the temperature.

5. Rainwater at ground level is utilized to adjust the temperature inside the building.
