The existing traffic light system in Singapore, although emphasizing traffic efficiency, lacks adequate provisions for ensuring safe and inclusive pedestrian crossings, particularly for persons with disabilities followed by (PWD).
The intelligent traffic light, which the project team designed, uses camera-based object detection and AI-powered time extension. This solution will facilitate individuals with mobility conditions to cross traffic lights with safe and ease.
